Client Reviews
So..... Myself and various co-workers decided to make these helicopters component of our down time although more than here in the middle of nowhere... We have numerous about the shop right now, and I bought this one particular...... the other guys all spent about $20 on theirs.... the Syma 107, 108 and 109... that is the Sport, Cobra, and Apache... and I spent $40 on this one when it was on sale (now it is $50). This ones handling does not even come close to comparing to theirs... I read up a lot more on the evaluations, and for some reason everyone says it is outstanding, but I'm thinking they've just never tried the Symas. I even ordered one other knuckle that holds the stabilizer bar to the leading rotor, (only came with one), in hopes that it can make it extra stable and manageable.. it didn't... Also, right after crashing about 15 occasions, the tail rotor snapped off at the bottom of the curve... I superglued it back on about 4 occasions, and then drilled holes on either side of the crack and safety wired it back on, and superglued once again :) gotta say, it has held up nicely just after all the crashes, and it is manageable to fly, and IT SHOOTS MISSLES which is the significant benefit more than the Symas........... but overall.... the Symas are unquestionably more agile, and effortlessly controlled (3 I named anyways), and the batteries last a little longer, and they are WAY quieter, and for much less than half the cost, I assume I would have just gone with 1 of those.
I upped it to a 4 star, only since it has withstood a significant beating, and it shoots missles. It did demand the repair of the tail rotor tho, and it doesn't handle as really good as it ought to for the cost. and it is loud.
I owned the Syma 108 before I bought this one. My critique will compare in between the two.
Cons:
1)Compared to Syma this one particular flies like a fat cow. Rotating left and correct is really responsive but forward and reverse takes like 5 seconds to kick in right after you move the manage which is certainly annoying and prone to crashes. The altitude adjustment response is also poor.
two)This one is much noisier. Sounds like a flying lawnmower.
three)Also the left throttle implemented to manage altitude is not spring loaded to throttle down when released like Syma which tends to make it tougher to control the altitude. (A tiny workaround of tying a rubber band to the throttle stick and anchoring the other end on the bottom of the controller helped. This keeps the tension on the throttle in the downward direction, which automatically pulls the throttle down when you release. This assists control the altitude much better.)
4)Almost double the value of Syma.
Pros:
1)Fires Missiles!
Not so enjoyable for my cat but super enjoyable for me. I am planing to modify the mechanism to hopefully squirt water rather.
I wish the Syma had this selection.
2)Nicely constructed. The materials implemented to make this one particular really feel a lot more solid then the Syma.
